The story:

In the morning that follows, you return to the Pond to find the friends already hard at work. Seeing the Pond friends come together, working hard to save something so dear to them fills you with determination and hope.

“It’s not going to be easy, I think,” a voice says by your side.

You turn to see Gen next to you. It surprises you; Gen is often the quiet one of the Pond friends, the one who will share a smile with you but not often a word. And so, you sit by their side and listen to whatever he has to say.

“Saving something that has been hurt so deeply takes a lot of work and time. Sometimes it will feel like the small things that we are doing aren’t doing anything to change things.”

You ask him whether, despite this, it is worth it.

Gen smiles. “Of course,” he says. “It’s always going to be worth it.”

It’s gardening – I mean, reading time!

Complete the below Pondathon Progress Tracker Form each time you finish reading a book/complete your writing goal.
