What is The Quiet Pond?
The Quiet Pond (‘The Pond’) is a fantasy-themed book blog with a simple narrative, in which you are the main character. The Quiet Pond is an ongoing story about your frequent visits to the Pond and the magical pond creatures who live there.
The Quiet Pond’s aim is to review and promote diverse books and uplift writers. It is, on occasion, an art blog as well. The Quiet Pond‘s mission is to critically and honestly review books, recommend the good ones, especially diverse books written by marginalised authors, and be a space of joy, warmth, and friendship.
Who are the Pond’s inhabitants? You can meet them here!
The Bloggers Behind The Quiet Pond
Hello friends! My name is CW and I am a book blogger from Aotearoa (New Zealand). My pronouns are she/her. I was the blogger behind Read Think Ponder, and blogged for five years there, but have since put that aside to start anew at The Quiet Pond. I enjoy reading a wide range of books, and some of my favourite books are Jade City by Fonda Lee, The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. Yee, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee.
The Quiet Pond is a product of my love for role-playing games (like Final Fantasy and Warcraft) and soft and light fantasy (like Undertale [Pacifist] and Little Witch Academia). The Quiet Pond is a space that accepts and celebrates all identities, is magical, and hopes to show that there is goodness and light in the world even in the darkest of places and times.
I hope that you will leave The Quiet Pond feeling like your day is a little brighter, and I hope that you will continue believing in yourself, believing in others, and know that uplifting each other is a powerful kind of magic.

Hi friends, I’m Joce! I got my start in the online book community on Booktube where I have a channel called squibblesreads. My reading taste has grown and evolved but I love books written for any age, as long as they are representative of everyone in the world around us. I am a strong advocate for representation of authors and characters who identify with marginalized groups.
In late 2018, my beautiful baby girl was born, and she is the brightest light of my life! When I’m not wrangling her, my hobbies include calligraphy, running, weightlifting, and makeup. Some of my favorite activities include going to Disneyland, destroying the patriarchy, and taking a nap.
Hi! My Name is Stella, I’m from the U.K. and yes, I’m sipping tea with the queen as we speak. My pronouns are she/her. Things I love music, art, photography, bullet journalling and of course, reading! I’ve always loved reading, but, I only got into YA books around 2014 and ever since then, I have fallen in love. My favourite genres are YA/NA Fantasy and YA/NA Contemporary. Especially diverse fiction. I love how so many diverse YA books have been so successful and I can’t wait to read more in the future! My favourite books are Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao, A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab, Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, and so many more!
